I sing as a kind of antidote, in response to our world. I try to capture the sometimes plaintive and, candid qualities of traditional, folk and contemporary music in my work and, am interested in the more infinite concerns of existence, exploring these depths when composing my own material and when singing songs from a variety of traditions and cultures around the world.
